“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19
FBCHville Missions Ministry seeks to connect every generation to service. Believers can grow in their relationship with Christ by living a lifestyle of missions. Whether it’s the local grocery store or a country on the other side of the world, the Good News of Jesus is for all people. And as followers of Christ, we are called to take this Good News to the ends of the earth.
First Baptist has opportunities to make missions a part of your everyday life through local partnerships, short term missions, and more!
Short Term Trips
Serve stateside with a church plant or revitalization partner, spend spring break on week long trips, or go internationally on quick support trips! Short term missions are a great way to engage with the nations, both locally and abroad. These quick trips can be as short as a weekend, or a little over a week.
Long Term Missions
Sense a calling to missions but not sure what that looks like? Long-term mission opportunities are available through mission partners such as the IMB, NAMB, and others. These long-term trips extend well beyond a week and give a chance to discover if long-term missions is what God has called you to do.

Ministry Partners
SUMNER COUNTY, TN
First Baptist Hendersonville is in Southwest Sumner County, TN, but our nearby area of gospel witness extends into other areas of the county including Gallatin and Goodlettsville. We reach these areas through a variety of church initiatives and through our partnership with several Christ-centered non-profit organizations.
Local
WESTMORELAND, TN
In 2022, First Baptist came alongside CrossRoads Church Westmoreland to help them revitalize their congregation. Located at a main intersection in Westmoreland, this church is in a prime location to see many come through their doors.
Late that year, the Lord provided a new pastor for CrossRoads in Chuck Workman. The community is poised for growth and the Lord has given great opportunity to help Cross Roads reach those who are far from Him. CrossRoads also serves as a pop-up distribution site for Feed Sumner Food Bank.
CrossRoads will need an infusion of new volunteers to help reach the growing community. Consider serving in Westmoreland for a special event, for a season or more. If you are interested in serving for a day or longer, contact Mike McClanahan at mmcclanahan@fbchtn.org or by calling 615-447-1374.
National
HELL’S KITCHEN, NEW YORK CITY
Lifelong FBCHville church member, Chris Mills, and his wife, Sarah, planted a church in a community of Manhattan, New York, called Hell’s Kitchen. The church officially launched One Community Church in 2020.
Chris and Sarah also work closely with other churches and church plants in New York as they coordinate their efforts through the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association (MNYBA).
As OCC’s sending church, we have unique opportunities to be engaged with the work Chris and Sarah are doing in New York. Regular missions trips from FBCHville go to New York City to partner with Christ and One Community Church.
International
GUATEMALA
While our church serves in many different areas around the globe, we have a unique partnership in Guatemala.
Through our partnership with E3 Volunteers, we partner with two churches and their pastors in Guatemala – one in the southern department (state) of Jutiapa, and the other in the northern department of Huehuetenango.
