“Children are a blessing from the Lord.” Psalm 127:3

As the father of three children, I can attest to the excitement & adventure of parenting, but it’s also a huge responsibility. The decisions & choices we make early in our children’s lives will affect them for the rest of their lives. This is especially true in the spiritual realm. The Preschool Ministry wants to partner with you, & offer encouragement & support as you raise your children. When your child is at First Baptist, the Preschool Ministry offers a special environment for them to feel loved & cared for, with both paid & volunteer workers who have been specially trained. All of our staff members have been thoroughly screened for security. We also want to provide experiences that enable them to hear about the love of Jesus, know the Bible is a special book about God & Jesus, & begin associating God & Jesus with feelings of wonder, love, and happiness.

Family Dedications

Family Dedications are a special event at First Baptist. We want to celebrate the new addition to your family and encourage you as parents to bring up your children in the “discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). We have a special day planned for you and your family.

The day will begin with a one-time class for parents at 11 a.m. led by our Preschool Pastor. This class will include topics such as: Understanding Parent/Family Dedication, ideas for implementing the spiritual development of your child as well as the role of the church in the life of your child.

At the conclusion of the class, parents, along with their immediate family members will be our guest at a lunch hosted by the Preschool Ministry.

After lunch (1 p.m.) families will participate in a special Family Dedication Ceremony led by our Pastor, Dr. Bruce Chesser. Any special friends and other family members can be invited to join us in Wilson Hall for the ceremony at 1 p.m. Participating families will receive a Read-To-Me Bible, dedication photo and certificate, along with other special gifts to commemorate the day.
