CULTURAL ISSUE RESOURCES
The following are links to sites that provide research and biblical answers for current cultural issues that we, as Christians, should be aware.
The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission
The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) is dedicated to engaging the culture with the gospel of Jesus Christ and speaking to issues in the public square for the protection of religious liberty and human flourishing.
Focus on the Family
Focus on the Family is a global Christian ministry dedicated to helping families thrive. We provide help and resources for couples to build healthy marriages that reflect God’s design, and for parents to raise their children according to morals and values grounded in biblical principles.
The Family Research Council
Founded in 1983, Family Research Council is a nonprofit research and educational organization dedicated to articulating and advancing a family-centered philosophy of public life. In addition to providing policy research and analysis for the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the federal government, FRC seeks to inform the news media, the academic community, business leaders, and the general public about family issues that affect the nation from a biblical worldview.
The Family Action Council of Tennessee
In 2006, a group of Tennesseans came together to form The Family Action Council of Tennessee (FACT) because of their concern about the future of the family in Tennessee and the growing negative impact of public policies on the family.
David Fowler, then in his twelfth year in the Tennessee Senate and a practicing attorney, was hired to become the first President of FACT.
FACT has since grown to five full-time employees and celebrated the first ten years in 2016.
the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
Continuing the lifelong work of Billy Graham, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association exists to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministry of Franklin Graham by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available to us and by equipping the church and others to do the same.
family policy alliance
Family Policy Alliance, formerly CitizenLink and Focus on the Family Action, is an American conservative Christian organization that functions as a lobbying arm of Focus on the Family. In particular, it is focused on lobbying at the level of state government politics via an “alliance” of state organizations known as Family Policy Councils.
American Family Association
American Family Association (AFA), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1977 by Donald E. Wildmon, who was the pastor of First United Methodist Church in Southaven, Mississippi, at the time. Since 1977, AFA has been on the front lines of America’s culture war. The original name of the ministry was National Federation for Decency but was changed to American Family Association in 1988.
