Special Kids Ministry
This is an ongoing ministry opportunity. The Special Kids Sunday School Class is for children (kindergarten-21 years of age) with developmental challenges. We offer 2 classes, elementary and middle/high school. The class averages 6-8 per class and meets each Sunday at 9:45 AM. The contact person is Rena Johnson.
Buddy Break Ministry
This is a seasonal service opportunity (August-April). This program is for special needs families. One Friday night a month, during the school year, a 3 hour respite care is provided. Special needs school aged children and their school aged siblings are treated to an evening of love and activities, while their parents have the opportunity to enjoy a break. This is a ministry to the community, not just for members of our church. Volunteers provide one-on-one care to each child for the 3 hour evening. A meal is provided to the volunteers. The meal that is provided for the volunteers is also a volunteer ministry. Sunday School Classes may choose to provide the meal as their contribution to the Buddy Break ministry.
