Shannon Benefiel

Minister of Church Administration

I am a native of Benton, KY where I grew up in a Christian home with godly parents and 5 boys. Now I have a family of my own God is using for His Kingdom purpose. My wife, Mary, is my best friend and most valuable ministry partner. Together we have had the joy of raising our daughter, Caitlyn, and our son, Chase, which are both in ministry. Caitlyn is married to Jared, who serves as a prison Chaplin and together they gave us our first grandchild, Caroline. Chase is an accomplished organist and serves the Lord with his gift while studying worship music and biblical languages in college.

I can remember going to church my whole life and at the age of nine I surrendered to Jesus as Lord and Savior. At age twenty-two I answered the call to vocational ministry and our family moved to Pineville, KY to study at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Bible. I went on to complete a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and I am currently a student at the University of the Cumberlands finishing my Ed.D. in Leadership.

I have had the privilege to serve as pastor at FBC Loyall in Loyall, KY and Oak Grove Baptist Church in Springfield, TN. In 2014 God called me back to Clear Creek Baptist Bible College on staff to serve as the Admissions Director and later as Dean of Institutional Advancement. In 2018, God lead us to First Baptist Church in Millington to serve as the Executive Pastor.

God’s call on my life is to fulfill Ephesians 4:11–12 “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;.”
