Summer Ideas

ADULTS:

Please join us June 5-9, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Vacation Bible School is for children who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade by end of school year 2016.

This is going to be a women’s study for adults 25 and older. The class is starting  June 14th, in Weekley 3309, from 6:30-7:30 PM. It will be focusing on how Jesus fully satisfies the cry of your heart. The study is by Lysa Terkeurst, and will be led by Donna Raley.  To register click here.  The Finding I AM books are $15.00, and can be purchased through the adult ministry. This is a men’s study for adults, 25 and older, revolving around engaging the culture without losing the gospel. This study is by Russell Moore and is led by Matt Stamper and Scott Sprouse. This study begins June 14th, in Weekley Room 2209, from 6:30-7:30 PM. The cost for the study text is $13, and books can be purchased through the adult ministry. To register, click here. If you ever wanted to learn to play or used to play and need a refresher course, this is for you! Adult students will focus on learning chords, playing rhythms, and following music. Some guitars available. Cost is $125. This class will be on Thursdays, from 6:00-7:00 PM, in Weekley Room 2209, and will run from June 15th-July 13th. To register, click here.

Summer Surge is each Wednesday night during the summer from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Boys and girls have a great time learning the Bible, playing games, and doing other activities.

There are several open classes at the School of Fine Arts for children:

Curtain Call Camp is still open for attendance, though some special parts are closed.

SOFA Art Camps are open for various ages. Art Explorers, completed grades K-3; Art Adventurers, completed grades 4-9.

STUDENTS:

Stringenda is a fun-filled, Christ-centered summer camp for rising 5th – 9th grade strings students. Camp dates are June 26th – 30th from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Hendersonville, in the 2nd floor of the Weekley building.  Instructors are Laura Poteet, Andie Smith, and Nikki Wilson.

The camp is open to students who have been playing the violin, viola, cello, or bass for at least one year, and who can read music on their instrument.

Join us for a week of art making and creation, July 10-14. We will explore a variety of media and techniques while completing several projects. These camps will take place in Weekley Room 2219. The cost for both camps is $165.

9am-12pm – Art Explorers, completed grades K-3;

1-4pm – Art Adventurers, completed grades 4-9.

Join us for a great week of Bible Study, mission projects and tons of fun!  Your student will have the opportunity to take part in on/off campus projects including: nursing homes, neighborhood sports, making blankets for Crisis Pregnancy Center and prepping supplies for overseas…just to name a few.  In addition to these projects, we’ll have worship, games & food! The Middle School Summer Camp is June 26-30 at Crossings Ministries in Baghdad, KY.

This will be an exciting time for your student to experience an environment where they have the opportunity to come to know Christ and to fully experience Him.  Don’t miss out on a fun week of the Blob, daily sports, tournaments, bazooka ball and ziplines!

Middle School and High School students will plan and implement Backyard Bible Clubs in several locations in Gallatin and Hendersonville from 9:00 am – noon. Sign-ups will begin in June.

This is a fun event for middle school and high schoolers, full of fun, food, and battling it out with ice cream. Come prepared to get messy!
