Dixie Walker graduated with a BA degree in Religious Education from Oklahoma Baptist University and a MA degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her focal point of study was in childhood ministries and church administration.
Over the years Dixie has served on church staffs in Arizona, Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee with an emphasis on childhood and family ministries. She has also worked as an editor and writer for several Christian publishing houses in the Nashville area since 1997, and is a contributing writer and editor for other Christian authors.
Dixie has written numerous parenting articles for LifeWay and has authored a few children’s devotion books for B&H Kids. She also writes a monthly childhood development segment for LifeWay’s ParentLife magazine. God has led Dixie to concentrate her efforts mainly on Christian discipleship through the family system. She loves discovering new ways and tools to help parents carry out this important mandate.
Since 1999 Dixie has been married to her husband, Don; they have one son named Joey, who is now in high school. Besides spending time with her family and writing faith-based resources, some of Dixie’s favorite things include: cooking, eating Mexican food, shopping (of course), and watching classic movies on TCM.
Dixie firmly believes that God led her to be part of The BabbCenter family at this time, and is so happy to use her gifts and passion for helping others through its resources and ministry.
